About

I'm Gui — a Los Angeles-based photographer specializing in landscape and cityscape photography.

I grew up between two cultures, Korean and Brazilian, and that mix has always made me comfortable with being on the move, searching for something just out of frame. I spent years in the Navy, which took me far from home and taught me how to find beauty in unfamiliar places. That habit never left me.

I earned my BFA from Brooks in Santa Barbara, CA. Most of my work happens at the edges of light: before sunrise, after sunset, in the moments most people are just waking up or heading home.

My work has taken me all across America, Europe, Asia, Southeast Asia, and plenty of roads in between. Whether it's the skyline of LA at twilight or fog rolling through a valley in Vietnam, I'm drawn to the same thing everywhere — the feeling that a place is alive, and that the moment is unrepeatable.

If something on the wall catches your eye, or if you want to talk about a project, I'd love to hear from you.
